Building collapse: All hail Bahria Town’s rescue work
KARACHI: Taking part in the rescue operation, Bahria
Town rescue teams recovered bodies and the injured from the debris of a
three-story building that collapsed in Karachi’s Liaquatabad area at 2:20am on
Monday.
The teams with their heavy machinery, led by Commander
Zulfiqar, quickly arrived at the scene of the accident and started the rescue
work.
Five people were killed and nine others injured in the
building collapse and were shifted to hospitals.
Bahria Town has
announced Rs 1m for the heirs of each of the dead and Rs 0.2m for every injured
person.

The people of the area appreciated the timely operation by
the Bahria Town teams and prayed
for the success of its chairman, Malik Riaz Hussain, whose teams were always
ready to handle any mishap.
Bahria Town has already started efforts to bring back
Pakistanis stranded in Nigeria. It has also announced aid for their families
here.
